«Vorskla» played against «Obolon» in the 29th round of UPL.

In Sunday, May 19, the 29th round match of the Ukrainian Premier League in football took place between Poltava’s «Vorskla» and Kiev’s «Obolon».

The first half of the match was interrupted three times due to air alarms. During the first two intervals, the guests had a slight advantage. The Kiev players threatened the Poltava team’s goal at least twice. In the 15th minute, Kraspopir crossed from the right flank, Taranukha headed the ball, but Isenko saved the ball flying towards the bar. In the 33rd minute, Chernenko passed to Medinsky, who shot from close range, but Isenko saved Vorskla again.

After the second break, Vorskla players managed to score two goals. In the 38th minute, Kane headed the ball from a distance of about 8 meters, Kichak reacted but failed to clear the ball, which flew into the net. Thus, Obolon’s series of not conceding goals, which had lasted 339 minutes, was interrupted.

One minute before the end of the first half, Krupsky doubled the hosts’ advantage. In the second half, the teams exchanged goals. Kovtalyuk scored for Vorskla, receiving a pass from Sklyar in the center circle, outrunning the defenders, facing the goalkeeper one-on-one, and precisely shooting into the far corner. In Obolon’s lineup, defender Karas scored a consolation goal, successfully playing during a corner kick.

The match ended in a tense battle, demonstrating the strength and resilience of both teams in the face of interruptions and intense play.
