Ukrainian Humanitarian Corridors: Key to Global Market Stability

The Office of the President of Ukraine has highlighted the role of humanitarian corridors in supporting the global food market and the Ukrainian economy. The introduction of these corridors significantly reduced grain prices, contributing to market stabilization and food accessibility.

This was stated by the director of the World Food Programme in Ukraine, Marianne Ward, during the Black Sea Security Forum. She emphasized that the export of grain from Ukraine has shown that even in times of war, the country’s economy can continue to function and benefit the global community. Every ship leaving Ukrainian ports receives support from the World Food Programme, aimed at delivering products to countries where they are most needed.

«Without this grain, the world would starve. Last year, Ukraine accounted for 20% of global grain exports, even in difficult circumstances of war. We continue to work to provide the world with the results of Ukrainian farmers,» Ward stressed.

The importance of humanitarian corridors for Ukraine was also highlighted by Bridget Brink at the forum, noting that they are a key element of the country’s economic stability, especially in the conditions of Russian military aggression. The work of Ukrainian ports continues unabated, with export volumes increasing every month, despite attempts by occupiers to limit Ukraine’s trade potential.
