Ukraine offers international partners to participate in energy sector recovery

In the near future, Ukraine will offer cooperation in restoring the country’s energy infrastructure

In the publication «Minus one ZAES in two weeks. What awaits Ukrainians due to shelling of the energy system», it was reported that Ukraine is considering two plans to be implemented simultaneously.

Plan «A»

Involves restoring damaged energy facilities in preparation for the winter period. This plan also includes strengthening civil defense measures in Ukraine.

Plan «B»

Includes the construction of small-capacity power plants of various types, not limited to gas turbines. Work is underway to determine the quantity and locations of such stations, with a special focus on problematic regions in the east and south of the country. Bureaucratic obstacles to the design and permitting process for their placement are planned to be minimized for faster construction.

It is also planned to suspend the mandatory permits and approvals. Some power plants are intended to be operational in certain regions before winter sets in, with some companies already expressing readiness to carry out installation work within a few months. The main task now is to find equipment and organize supply.

Although the plan may not fully compensate for the loss of capacity, additional small-scale generation facilities can significantly ease the situation in case of electricity shortage.
