In 2024, 15 single parents raising children on their own will receive one-time cash prizes from the Mayor of Kyiv. This was reported by the Kyiv Department of Children and Family.
Among the awardees are 8 single fathers and 7 single mothers, who were selected by the mayor’s order. The prize amount is 5,000 hryvnias.
In addition, candidates are considered based on:
- the parent’s success in raising children,
- the parent’s achievements in public life — creative, scientific, cultural achievements, etc.,
- the child’s academic achievements,
- the family’s material, household, and housing conditions.
Documents for receiving the prize must be submitted by February 1:
- conclusion from the district administration,
- characterization from the parent’s workplace and the child’s school,
- documents confirming the status of a single father or single mother,
- assessment of the family’s material, household, and housing conditions,
- certificate of residence registration,
- copy of the parent’s passport,
- copy of the child’s birth certificate,
- copy of the parent’s identification code,
- photograph of the parent 3×4 cm in size.
The submitted document packages will be reviewed by a commission by March 1, after which a decision will be made on awarding or refusal of the prize.
