The prosecutor of the Korosten District Prosecutor’s Office has proven the guilt of a local resident for intentional murder (part 1 of article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The court has sentenced him to 12 years in prison and ordered him to pay material and moral damages in the amount of over 500 thousand hryvnias.
During the trial, it was confirmed that a 28-year-old resident of the Korosten district, who was previously convicted, committed a brutal murder of his fellow villager a few years ago. The incident occurred on a winter December evening when the accused, along with his friend, visited an acquaintance and consumed alcoholic beverages.
At around 23:00, a confrontation between the accused and the 21-year-old victim escalated from offensive words and a conflict. The convicted individual struck the victim on the head with a glass bottle and then inflicted several stab wounds, resulting in the victim’s death.
