Today, on May 1, counterintelligence measures are being carried out in the center of Kyiv. This was reported by the SBU press service, which emphasizes the conduct of activities in the Shevchenkivskyi district.
Increased Security Measures
It is noted that the main locations are Sofiivska and Mykhailivska squares and the adjacent area. During the implementation of the measures, restrictions on traffic and movement on the city streets, checking of citizens’ documents, and inspection of vehicles are possible.
«The main purpose of the measures is to check and enhance the counter-sabotage protection of important state objects and public places,» explained the SBU.
In addition to the Security Service, employees of the State Protection Department, the National Police, the Military Law Enforcement Service of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and other units involved in the defense of the capital are also involved in the activities.
The SBU calls on Kyiv residents to understand possible inconveniences and comply with the lawful actions and requirements of law enforcement officers. It is also advisable to have documents confirming identity on hand and adhere to the curfew regime.
