Early in the morning on February 15th, Russian occupying forces once again attacked Ukraine with rockets. The capital was also targeted in the attack.
Combined Rocket Attack on Kyiv
According to the Kyiv City Military Administration, this time the attack was combined. Rockets of various types were launched towards Kyiv from different directions. The air raid alert in the capital lasted for over 2 hours, during which air defense forces destroyed all enemy targets heading towards Kyiv.
«According to operational information, there were no casualties or damage in the capital. The city’s vital systems are operating normally. We thank the air defense troops for their excellent work. Let’s support the Armed Forces of Ukraine! The approaching of peace in Ukraine after our victory depends on each of us,» the statement said.
Russia Deploys Bombers for the Attack
Russia deployed strategic bombers into the sky for the attack, with several Tu-95MS aircraft taking off from the «Olenya» airfield in the Murmansk region of the Russian Federation. Air defense worked in Kyiv and the surrounding region, as well as in the Lviv, Khmelnytsky, Zaporizhzhia, and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
There are reports of hits on infrastructure in Zaporizhzhia, and several buildings in Lviv on Naukova Street had windows shattered by the blast wave. The air raid alert began to be lifted at 7 am.
