The Security Service of Ukraine uncovers conspiracy involving married couple
The Security Service of Ukraine has uncovered a conspiracy involving a married couple who were planning a missile strike on the energy infrastructure of the Lviv region. According to the SBU, among the main targets of the enemy were power plants that provide electricity to a significant part of the region. The man, recruited by the FSB, has been serving a sentence in a local colony since 2023 for inflicting serious bodily harm.
Recruitment and Betrayal
«He came into the enemy’s sights through the spread of messages on social media in support of armed aggression by the Russian Federation against Ukraine. Later, FSB employees established contact with him and recruited him remotely. After that, they switched to communication in an anonymous chat, where the convicted person received intelligence tasks and step-by-step instructions for their execution,» the report says.
Exposed Plans and Failed Intentions
It is noted that the FSB agent involved his «free» wife in cooperation with the enemy. At his request, the woman had to find «necessary» energy facilities and photograph them with a reference to the location. According to the SBU, the occupiers promised to finance all the «current expenses» of their accomplices related to intelligence and subversive activities, as well as to transfer monetary «reward». In case of obtaining intelligence information, the aggressor planned to use it to launch missile strikes to disconnect the western region of Ukraine from electricity supply.
However, they failed to carry out their criminal intentions — the SBU exposed the enemy agents. During a search in the man’s cell, a mobile phone he used to communicate with the FSB was seized. He has been informed of suspicion of state treason and justification of Russian aggression. The agent faces life imprisonment.

It is also planned to inform the wife of the suspect about suspicion of state treason.
