Charitable Foundation «East SOS» Reports Blockade of Evacuation Efforts in Neresnytska Community
Recently, the charitable foundation «East SOS» reported that the Neresnytska community of the Zakarpattia region is blocking the evacuation of people from the frontline territories of the Donetsk region. «Donbass News» reached out to the coordinator of the restoration direction of the «East SOS» foundation, Yevhen Holovanevskyi, who commented on this situation.
According to Holovanevskyi, in November 2022, the foundation entered into an agreement with the Neresnytska community to restore premises using the foundation’s funds, and the community would provide accommodation and social care for evacuated people. The premises were designed for 10 beds and 26 people with mobility impairments.
«We equipped and prepared the premises, and in May this project was completed, but the community did not provide stationary care, therefore, there are no conditions for the maintenance and support of these people. This situation has been developing for nine months, we have been communicating, looking for different ways to resolve this situation with the community and the Zakarpattia region,» he said.
Holovanevskyi noted that this issue was unresolved for a long time, but a compromise solution was proposed shortly thereafter.
