Several cases of African swine fever detected in Odesa region
Several cases of African swine fever have been detected at a private farm in the village of Honorata in the Podilskyi district of the Odesa region. According to the regional Main Directorate of the State Consumer Services, the disease was confirmed in the laboratory on April 4. Since then, specialists from the department and local authorities have been taking quarantine measures to prevent the spread of the disease.
Owners of pigs are advised to keep them indoors, avoid contact with other animals, service pigs only in special footwear, regularly disinfect and clean pigsties, not allow unauthorized persons to enter them, and not feed pigs with untreated waste. Consumers are urged to refrain from purchasing meat at unauthorized markets.
