Neil Gaiman Accused of Sexual Violence

One of the most successful writers in the world, the author of bestsellers «American Gods» and «The Graveyard Book», Neil Gaiman, has been accused of sexual violence. This information appeared in a podcast called «Master: Allegations Against Neil Gaiman», consisting of four parts and released on July 3, 2024.

According to the accusations, spanning two decades, the writer had relationships with young women who worked as nannies for his children and were his fans. They claimed that Gaiman demanded to be called «master».

Scarlett, a 23-year-old young woman, said she became a victim of sexual violence after meeting the writer in February 2022 at his residence in New Zealand, where she worked as a nanny for his child. She claimed that the relationship was vulnerable and violent, and her words are corroborated by messages and notes made during that time.

Another woman, K., said she experienced a rough and painful sexual act with Neil Gaiman in 2003 when she was 18 years old. According to her, she was an involuntary participant in these relationships, which led to physical and psychological trauma.

The writer denies the accusations and claims that all relationships were consensual. Both women have not filed complaints with the police, however, law enforcement agencies in New Zealand have initiated an investigation.

The situation remains of high interest, and the investigation is ongoing.
