Construction Company Director Faces Fraud Charges in Lviv
A court case against the director of a construction company, who is accused of fraud amounting to nearly 23 million hryvnias, is set to begin soon in Lviv. According to the police of the Lviv region, the developer failed to fulfill his obligations to clients and also did not complete the construction of the promised house.
According to a police report from Friday, April 12, from 2018 to 2022, the director of the construction company, using fictitious contracts for the sale of apartments, misappropriated money from 38 clients. He accepted prepayments for real estate that he had no intention of building and used the funds at his own discretion. This led to damages of almost 23 million hryvnias for the 38 future homeowners.
The accused is currently in custody and faces a prison sentence of three to eight years. This case has become one of many where developers deceive clients in Lviv, leaving them without apartments and money.
