In Zaporizhia, on May 25, an action «Don’t be silent. Captivity kills» took place in support of the captured defenders of Mariupol. Around 100 people participated in the event. The participants held posters calling for the return of the soldiers, and cars honked in support.
Relatives of Ukrainian defenders joined the action
including the family of the captured soldier Kostiantyn. He defended Mariupol since the beginning of the invasion. Since early April 2022, there has been no communication with him.
«We have no confirmation from the Red Cross or the Russian Federation. The only thing we saw was a video of him leaving Azovstal. One of the prisoners of war confirmed that he saw him in captivity,» the family told Suspilne Zaporizhzhia.

Her son has been in captivity for two years.
«We hope for the world’s help in releasing the defenders of Mariupol. The guys are waiting to come back. We are here to support them because they defended us,» she said. «The last time we talked was in 2022. He said, ‘Mom, I will definitely come back home. I love you’.»
