Children in Kyiv poisoned with chocolate laced with drugs

Drug Poisoning Cases in Kyiv Hospitalized Three Children

During the past week in March, three children in Kyiv were hospitalized with drug poisoning, and the culprit was chocolate, as reported by Kyiv City Children’s Clinical Hospital No. 1.

On March 23, two children from the same family were admitted to the hospital showing signs of consciousness disturbances, weakness, and vomiting. The younger child was placed in the intensive care unit. The hospital determined that cannabis was the cause of their condition, as both children had eaten humanitarian chocolate in an unidentified package the day before.

Later, on March 26, another child was brought to the hospital in a state of psychomotor agitation with hallucinations, vomiting, dilated pupils, and decreased muscle tone. It was discovered that the child had consumed chocolate given by their father the day before, containing psilocybin, a substance found in hallucinogenic mushrooms.

The incident has been reported to the police for further investigation.
