Resident of Rivne Region Detained for Setting Fire to Diesel Train Carriage
Law enforcement officers have detained a resident of Rivne region who set fire to a motor carriage of a diesel train. This was reported by the press service of the Rivne region police.
According to the police, the report of the fire at the depot in Zdolbuniv was received on July 16 from rescuers. Operatives found that the 48-year-old resident of Zdolbuniv was involved in the crime. The man set fire to some rags and threw them into a carriage, which was not in operation, and it burned almost completely. The suspect stated that he wanted to seek revenge in this way, as he had previously been convicted of theft from the same company.
Following investigative actions, the man was detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and charged with committing a crime under Part 2 of Article 194 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (intentional damage to property by arson).
The court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention for a period of up to 60 days with the possibility of bail.
