This year, between 20,000 and 25,000 contract students to receive grant funding
This year, between 20,000 and 25,000 applicants admitted to study on a contract basis at universities will be eligible for grant funding. This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Education and Science, Mykhailo Vynnytskyi, during a telethon.
Support for students with good results in external independent testing
According to him, this initiative is intended for students with good results in external independent testing who were unable to secure a state-funded spot due to various circumstances. The cost of contract education at Ukrainian universities is already at the European standards level, creating competition with European universities for Ukrainian students.
Varying amounts of grant support
The amount of annual grant support will vary from 15,000 to 25,000 hryvnias, and for strategically important specialties, it may reach 37,500 hryvnias. The grant will be provided for the entire period of study, taking into account the inflation index.
Opportunities for applicants based on test scores
Applicants who score more than 150 points in two external independent tests and are admitted to study on a full-time or dual basis can apply for a Level I grant of 15,000 hryvnias. Additionally, applicants with over 170 points in two external independent tests may receive a Level II grant of 25,000 hryvnias, which will also be multiplied by the specialty coefficient.
