Conservative forecast: Grain and oilseed crop harvest in Ukraine expected to reach 73 million tons

Projected Harvest of Cereals and Oil Crops Reaches 73 Million Tons

According to modest forecasts, the potential harvest of cereals and oil crops this year is projected at 73 million tons. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Economy — Trade Representative of Ukraine Taras Kachka during the tenth meeting of the Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Latvian Commission on Economic, Industrial, and Scientific-Technical Cooperation.

«They predict that the harvest will amount to 73 million tons,» Kachka said.

He expressed hope that the harvest could exceed the modest forecast, approaching the level of the previous year. «Last year, 79 million tons of cereals and oil crops were harvested,» Kachka reminded.

As reported earlier, at the beginning of last year, the total gross harvest of cereals and oilseeds for 2023 was forecasted to be almost 13% lower compared to the previous period, at 63.5 million tons. However, weather conditions have contributed to an increase in the harvest.
