Apple Watch SE: Next Generation Details Revealed
Insiders have revealed details about the next generation of Apple Watch SE, which may feature a plastic casing in order to reduce the cost by around $50.
According to recent reports, the company is planning to switch to plastic materials to increase competitiveness in the market with more affordable smartwatches. Currently, Apple Watch SE is made with an aluminum casing, but a material change to plastic will significantly lower the price to around $200, putting them in direct competition with the Galaxy Watch FE.
While this is a significant step towards affordability, the plastic casing may evoke mixed reactions among fans, similar to the response to the iPhone 5C. Apple is hoping that the new lower prices will offset any potential reservations about the material of the casing.
