Ukraine: Qualification assessment of a judge from Odessa region due to corruption suspicion

The Higher Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine appoints qualification assessment for judge Oleksandr Boyarsky

The Higher Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine (HQCJ) has appointed a qualification assessment for the judge of the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi City District Court of Odessa Region, Oleksandr Boyarsky. The decision was made on June 19.

According to the established procedure, the assessment process includes two stages: passing an exam and analyzing the file and holding an interview.

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) suspects the judge of dishonest behavior and collaboration with a lawyer, which led to unlawful provision of benefits in exchange for a decision aimed at avoiding mobilization. According to the prosecutor, the judge’s actions are classified under Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The case concerns decisions regarding the guardianship of a child issued in favor of the father, not the mother.
