Barcelona’s Central Midfield Reinforcements
Barcelona is actively working on strengthening its central midfield for the upcoming transfer window. According to journalist Toni Juanmartí from Sport.es, the club is planning to acquire a Spanish player.
Barcelona President Joan Laporta noted that while big transfers from the club should not be expected, reinforcements to the squad are still planned. The new central midfielder that Barcelona wants to sign is Mikel Merino.
Barcelona’s head coach Hans-Dieter Flick has already approved the potential deal and sees the Spaniard as part of his team. It is reported that the player himself is also not opposed to leaving Real Sociedad, and his contract with the club expires in June of next year.
