Results of Ukrainian Delegation Visit to Iceland

Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Policy and Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation, Arseniy Pushkarenko, has revealed the results of a recent visit by a Ukrainian delegation to Iceland. During several productive days in Reykjavik, the delegation met with President Gudni Johannesson, then-Prime Minister Katrin Jakobsdottir, members of the government, parliament representatives, Speaker Birgir Armannsson, and leaders of all parliamentary factions.

«We have reached several concrete agreements, and Iceland has already fulfilled some of them. In particular, they have allocated an additional approximately 2 million euros for the purchase of ammunition for Ukraine under the Czech initiative,» stated the head of the delegation.

The Icelandic government has also submitted a five-year plan of long-term commitments to the parliament regarding the provision of economic, humanitarian, security, and defense support to Ukraine, which was recently approved. The plan includes comprehensive assistance on Ukraine’s path to NATO membership and the implementation of the Ukrainian Peace Formula.

«This is another significant step by one of our partner countries in providing long-term support to Ukraine. We express our gratitude to the Icelandic people, government, parliament, and president for their firm position on our country,» emphasized Arseniy Pushkarenko.
