Shelter mode: Kyiv metro at night

Changes in Kiev Metro operation during air alarm

During the air alarm on the evening of April 5, passengers at the «Zvirynetska» station were not allowed to disembark, as it served as a shelter, according to the Kyiv Metro.

Metro trains do not operate above ground during air threat warnings, leading to route changes. Trains on the red line ran from «Akademmistechko» to «Teatralna», while those on the green line ran from «Syrets» to «Zvirynetska» and from «Osokorky» to «Chervony Khutir».

Stations such as «Arsenalna», «Khreshchatyk», «Slavutych» and «Vydubychi» operated in shelter mode during the alert, with «Zvirynetska» experiencing overcrowding and passengers being disembarked at «Pecherska». Notably, blue line trains operated normally.

Following the alert, the metro has since resumed its regular operations.
