Czech Republic Allocates Funds for Artillery Ammunition for Ukraine
Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala has announced the country’s contribution to the purchase of artillery ammunition for Ukraine, with tens of millions of euros allocated for this initiative.
According to Fiala, Czech Republic’s contribution will amount to hundreds of millions of crowns, equivalent to tens of millions of euros, as part of a program involving 18 countries.
The largest contribution of 576 million euros for 180,000 artillery shells has been promised by Germany, with Czech Republic actively organizing the purchase of at least 800,000 large-caliber ammunition.
The first deliveries to Ukraine are planned by June, with Czech officials confident in providing the necessary amount of ammunition with sufficient funding.
This initiative is in response to Ukraine’s acute need for artillery ammunition following Russia’s full-scale invasion two years ago.
