Media reports sunken ship after the Houthi strike

The Yemeni Houthi rebels attacked the Rubymar ship, causing it to sink in the Red Sea.

This is the first vessel to go down after an attack by the Houthis, Bild reported on Saturday, March 2.

The Rubymar, registered in the UK, was carrying over 40,000 tons of fertilizers.

The ship was attacked on February 18, lost control, drifted uncontrollably in the Red Sea, and eventually sank. The crew was evacuated.

Due to the fact that the ship was carrying fertilizers and the damages caused a fuel leak, there is a serious threat of ecological damage.

An oil slick has formed around the ship, stretching for about a kilometer.
