«Dnipro Operativny» reports on the successful renovation of a civil defense shelter

The civil defense shelter at 7-A Odessa Street, owned by the Dnipro Electric Transport Company, has undergone a thorough renovation. Upgrades include a new ventilation system, Wi-Fi installation, a ramp-equipped staircase, and an emergency call button. The shelter now offers comfortable conditions for 170 people in the event of missile attacks, with seating areas, beds, restrooms, and a specially equipped room for mothers with children. Equipped with a generator, batteries, and water supply, the shelter ensures the safety of its occupants.

The Department of Transport and Transport Infrastructure owns 30 similar shelters, some of which are mobile and located near public transport stops. The remaining shelters are found at metro stations or are standalone structures. Ivan Vasyuchkov, deputy head of the department’s transport management, reveals that two more shelters are currently being renovated to meet the same standards as this one, and assures the public that these shelters remain accessible.
