Burnout at work: Early Detection Tool Developed
Burnout at work is a state that many of us face, feeling drained of energy and motivation. Research has shown that this is a common problem among workers, but now scientists have developed an early detection tool for this condition. It is believed that this approach will help improve working conditions and increase productivity.
A study conducted by Leon de Biro, an associate professor at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, revealed that about 13% of workers in Norway suffer from burnout or are approaching it. However, a new tool has emerged to detect signs of burnout at an early stage.
This tool, called the «Burnout Assessment Tool» (BAT), is designed to measure fatigue levels and other symptoms, such as loss of interest in work and decreased concentration. Testing of BAT has already begun in 30 countries and is showing promising results.
Burnout is not just fatigue; it is a complex combination of exhaustion, emotional detachment, and emotional breakdown. It can lead to serious health problems and decreased productivity at work. The new tool could be key in combating this phenomenon, helping to identify risks and provide support to those who need it most.
Researchers emphasize that in addition to individual treatment, it is important to create a healthy work environment that does not lead employees to burnout. This includes various measures, from improving working conditions to encouraging rest and supporting colleagues.
