Head coach of the Ukrainian national team, Serhiy Rebrov, shared his thoughts on the recent defeat in the opening match of Euro 2024 against Romania (0:3).
«Everyone is responsible for this defeat — both the coaching staff and the players. We select players based on their form and potential. The European Championship is a high level of competition. Every fan has their opinion, and we have some problems with the squad, but all the players who took the field wanted to help.
My experience with Valeriy Lobanovskyi taught me not to listen only to external opinions, as they do not see the training process. After the defeat, we carefully analyzed the game. Everyone understood their mistakes. They know that they need to take the field with great enthusiasm and desire. I am confident that we will come out next time and show the lessons we have learned,» said Rebrov.
It is worth noting that the next match for the «blue-yellow» team will take place on Friday, June 21, against the Slovak national team. The match will start at 16:00 Kyiv time. This will be the second match out of three in the group stage of Euro 2024.
